Face your fear

Walking up to a girl and asking her out was one of the toughest moments of my life. The first time I approached a girl was during my second year as a university undergraduate student. Despite that she had been my closest friend for well over two years, she still feigned ignorance and pretended that my disjointed words were alien to her. Virtually all African ladies do that, a lot of my African folks can relate. I can't speak for other continents.
I trembled and stammered all along. I could feel sweat form clusters on my face even though it was on a cold night. All my rehearsals failed me!
It was a tough task but one of the best decisions I took as an undergraduate student.
Statistically, there are over 100 fears in the world. From the subtle ones like the fear of water (hydrophobia) to the fear of small spaces (claustrophobia), to the tougher one like the fear of public speaking (glossophobia) to the fear of the unknown (xenophobia)
No matter how tough you may look, you must have experienced at least one of these fears in your lifetime While some have overcome theirs already, some of us still languish in it, me inclusive.
What is your most pronounced fear? Is it the fear of failure? Fear of success or fear of fear itself?
Do you know what a fear does to you? It prevents you from reaching your potentials, robs you of your inner peace and leaves you miserable.
"Courage,", said Nelson Mandela "is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it."
Courage is when you are sore afraid that still go ahead to do what is needed to be done, anyway.
Fear, unlike worry, is real!
To overcome your fear, you need to do these three things; admit it, accept it and challenge it!
Pretending it doesn't exist won't change a thing. It will show up and mess you up when you least expect.
Remember, the more fear you show, the less far you go
Face your fear, crush it before it crushes you and you will be unstoppable!
