Although I can agree with some of these remedies I would say that cherries do not help like suggested. My husband is 43 and has been struggling with gout for the last several years, he gave up meats and watch high purine foods. When I was making him smoothies with cherries, blueberries, strawberries and spinach he had worse gout. He couldn’t figure out why he had gout until recently, he was taking two baby aspirin a day and that actually elevated the Unir acid levels. So many people do not believe that aspirin can cause gout especially since how many older adults take aspirin therapy as a preventative. They no longer teach doctors about the aspirin gout connection which if they did many people would not need to take allopurinal to treat gout.
