Wow, its been a while

Well, its been a while since I signed into Steemit, in fact its been years.

I don't even know who's going to see this, probably nobody, as I haven't kept up with this platform at all and no clue if many of those I knew are still using it.

There's probably a ton of changes to the platform so forgive me if I make a mess of this post.

I'm just checking in to say hope anyone reading this is doing well.

Its been a weird year, really weird. In all honesty its been a good year for me overall. I nearly feel guilty about saying that as so many bad things have happened to so many people this year. Its not like I escaped it all either, I lost my job earlier in the year when the company I was working for were hit hard when Covid restrictions came into place in Ireland. Thankfully I found another job very quickly and so far its been great. They're a much nicer company to work for, and I probably never would have changed if my hand wasn't forced in this situation.

For me the biggest change was the birth of my daughter in June. It was a strange time for this all to happen as the maternity hospital had a lot of restrictions and I wasn't able to attend a lot of the hospital appointments, or stay with my wife and daughter after the birth. It was pretty tough at the time but they were home within a few days and since then everything has been great.

She's just turned 6 month's and its honestly been the happiest 6 months of my life. In a time where the world has seemed a bit scary she's given me and my wife the most amazing reason to smile every day.

Anyway thats my quick check in, plenty more has happened this year too but I won't make this too long. I really hope you're all doing well. I can imagine it's been a roller-coaster year for a lot of you, hopefully with more highs than lows.
