A day without technology.
I thought that I couldn't live without technology, but I was wrong.
I use my computer, tablet, and smartphone all the time for games, work, facebook and other social medias. I mean we all do. If I can’t use a computer for more than 3 days, I feel so outdated already and I literally catch fever. Computer radiation becomes part of my life, but I think it’s only in the mind. Yes, these gadgets makes our life easier, but have you noticed? There’s no more real human connection because of these things. In a gathering, some people wants to talk like a human being but lots of people are too busy with their smartphones. Those people are becoming social robots.
Therefore, Einstein was right.
“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.”
Technology is the fast growing industry as of right now and it has no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact everything will be ran by technology in the near future. Technology is around us all the time, lately with computers, smart phones and televisions. So much has changed within this particular field over the years, it has come a long way since the days of the printing press and the first cellular phones. Computers and cellular phones are used everyday all over the world, in many different ways. Computers and cell phones help with businesses and work from home opportunities. Social networking and games are also a big part of everyday life of people all over the world within the technology aspect.

Experience
One day everything has changed. Me and my friends went to somewhere and I forgot to bring any gadget and I don’t have time to go home because we’ll miss the bus. From that time my eyes were opened, my friends are too busy with their smartphones and I was mad because it’s hard to talk to them. I’m also pissed because I don’t have my gadgets, and will surely get bored for a long time. I then confiscated their gadgets and shared them what I noticed. “You guys are being controlled by technologies” Now, to solve the problem, I dared everyone not to touch their gadgets. One of my friends told me that it’s hard and boring if there’s no gadgets so I told him that we’re experimenting here. “Have you seen the difference? We are now talking as humans. REAL CONVERSATION. I know you can’t resist it but please just for 1 day.”
Result
Now that we’ve started this challenge, we didn’t plan out our trip. We don’t like planning our event because it will never gonna happen if it was planned. At that moment, we were having a real adventure, real bonding, and real life with real humans. Our phones were turned off, no one will ever disturb us. That was one of our greatest adventure, we didn’t took pictures, update status, or share to social media, because we don’t want to be distracted also we don’t care if no one will know our adventure because we’re not here for fame we’re here for adventure! We did have a great experience and it’s already enough to store it in our memories.
4 Tips on having an adventure
- Stay away from the internet. — It is distracting you from the spirit of adventure. You don’t need to update every single adventure you have, your audience can wait, but if you do you will be too busy updating and you will miss a lot.
- Stop using smartphones when talking to someone. — It annoys the person you are talking to. You’re also stepping on their egos, by not showing some attention on what they are trying to say to you.
- Ask questions. — Directions, About The Place, Histories and more. If you don’t know something then ask some people not Google, and start a conversation, make friends. I guarantee that you’ll meet lots of amazing people, listen to their stories and have fun.
- Treasure the moment, not capture. — for example: Using your camera. Instead of making the moment special, you are only capturing the moment. You may not notice this but from the time you use your camera, you’ll miss tons of opportunities to make the moment special. There’s a great quote from the movie “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”.
“If I like a moment, for me, personally, I don’t like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.”
