6 Ways to stay motivated when you feel overwhelmed!!!
No matter how successful, productive or rich you are, there will always be moments when you feel overwhelmed. When that happens, it can become extremely difficult to get motivated.
Entrepreneurs, but also their employees, need strategies that lead them back into the right path in such situations.
Of course you should regularly leave your comfort zone and bite through in most situations. Nevertheless, there will be times when you simply do not want to work and need rest.
There are many situations where you can feel overwhelmed, but these 6 ways will help you motivate and work with joy again.
The simplest and most difficult step is to stop working or take a break. This is initially a little counterintuitive.
When you feel overwhelmed, your mind and your body tell you that you need a break. It would be a serious mistake not to listen to these signals.
Even if your logic says you have to stop to finish your tasks, you should act smart and go back a gear.
Even if your break is only 5 to 15 minutes long, it is mostly enough to distract you and get a clear head again. Go for a walk, steer your way and create new energy.
You must understand that your results will not improve if you continue to work at this point. Your brain can not concentrate on complex things.
Get regular breaks from the mental work and you will feel better or less overwhelmed.
Our mind has a certain amount of attention that it can distribute on things that are important. When it is consumed, it is consumed.
If you are working on complicated projects, you can imagine how quickly this stint is consumed.
If you also start two important projects, professionally or privately, at the same time, you waste time, energy and resources. You will be hard to get into a flow condition and results will be delayed.
This often leads to short-term depression and the feeling of overpowering. One thinks that one is not up to the point. The fact that the error has already happened in the run-up is not enough.
Imagine you are working on two to ten unfinished projects and are not going anywhere. How demotivating must this be?
In addition, you waste a lot of time to switch between the different tasks and projects. With each change, your thoughts must first find their way into the new structures and this will take some time longer than you think.
Not all projects produce the same results, so they select meticulously and start working on the most important construction site.
Before that, I said that you should finish a project before you start the next one. Anyone who has ever tried as a founder knows that this is often a huge idea.
In the start-up phase of a company, the founder has to deal with many things at the same time in order to achieve success in a reasonable time.
The fact that you have to take care of many things at the same time does not mean that you have to do everything yourself. You just have to keep an eye on it.
To be clear about your strengths, is extremely important here. It helps not only your business, but also your self-confidence, if you only take on those things in which you can bring your strengths into play.
Everything else you should cleverly delegate and only one eye on it. Your attention focus should be on the things you can actually do.
I often find myself in situations where I am concentrating on a task while constantly shooting ideas for other areas in my head. How should one behave in such a situation? Leave the current task and devote yourself to the new ideas?
That would be the wrong version in my opinion. In most cases implementation takes much longer than finding ideas.
The idea of "quickly implementing the new ideas", in order to be able to dedicate themselves to the actual task, is therefore more than absurd.
If you have new ideas while working, write them down and leave them alone. When it is time, and you have time for your implementation, you can focus it.
In most cases, you feel overwhelmed because you concentrate on too many things at the same time. All leading psychologists and productivity experts support the fact that people are not multitasking.
There are certain things that we can do at the same time. For example, it will not be difficult for you to listen to music while walking, or to drive a car and talk to your passenger.
But all these are activities that do not require excessive concentration. Trying to read a movie at the same time, read a book, and be a part of both, your thinking will come to its limits.
In this case, you must pay less attention to one of the two activities to focus on the other.
Multitasking will not help you to do more things in a shorter time. Instead, you will create stress that will give you the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Focus on a task and you will remain motivated and productive.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, the first thing I do is to organize my environment. This includes my desk, my agenda and my thoughts.
Your physical environment is a reflection of your mind, and these two worlds can also be reversed. A decent room will also arrange your thoughts.
As soon as you begin to organize your life outside of your work, you will always be better at it. These new skills in organization and decision-making will have a positive impact on your work.
You feel more relaxed, self-assured and less stressed.
The word "over" in "overloaded" means that you become something too much in your life. A clear signal to simplify things and organize your life is rare.
Concentrate on one of these 6 ways and change it. You will be able to achieve noticeable results in a short time and go through life more relaxed.
