Prick the right socks.
Sometimes foot problems are caused by the wrong socks you wear. Even so, most runners do not realize that choosing the right socks is as important as buying the right shoes, and even tend to underestimate the importance of wearing the right socks. Hence, having the right socks on is essential in maintaining foot health during a race.
Synthetic or acrylic socks, which stay dry and are comfy, are way better than cotton socks to keep blisters from popping up on your feet. So, synthetic fabric is best option for runners, which wicks away the moisture from your skin, and will help to reduce your chances of getting a blister. As well as that, a good sock can make you feel more comfortable and cozy, and provide cushioning to high impact areas.
However, those having cottons socks on are relatively prone to blisters, as they absorb the moisture from your skin and keep your feet wet, and may lead to skin irritation. Technically speaking, cotton fiber retains almost three times the moisture of acrylic.
The Need-to-Know
The most important factor to consider when picking a good sock is to stay away from socks that are 100 % cotton. which is because once it gets wet from perspiration, it stays wet during running. You will end up having a very uncomfortable run. Choose socks made from synthetic materials like acrylic and polyester.
