In my country using firecrackers is legal especially during my youth where one can easily buy types of firecrackers and then lighting it on the street.
Sometimes we use toads (which I regret now) and putting a firecracker in its mouth, lighting the firecracker and allowing the toad to leap around before being pulverized. The fun thing is that and it make me laugh even today when your companions get struck with frog parts LOL. It is so funny.
Bu the best firecracker I guess was that type we call a "whistle bomb" where it makes a whistling sound before it explodes. It is very loud. Sometimes the whistle is very powerful that it makes the firecracker move around.

There is one time that a friend of mine lighted one and it shooted right between the flip-flop and foot of my friend LOL but he had the time to shake it off before it exploded otherwise it would have wounded him seriously.
Of course we just laughed it off not thinking about the danger and repercussions but that is the thing, the excitement and fun of lighting a firecracker.
The whistle bomb is also best for exploding it underwater because it is like a torpedo and the whistling sound drives it underwater before it explodes. If the pond for example has some fish in it then they would get hurt and you will see fishes swimming aimlessly after the explosion.
The more powerful the explosion the more fun it gets to light it up especially if you put it into something that will get destroyed and see the after effects like broken pieces or the crater it had made and the annoyance it brought to your neighbor.
Now most of firecrackers like the whistle bomb is illegal to make and sell because of the hazards it has done before maiming kids and other people losing fingers to hands in the process. So the president of the Philippines said enough is enoughenough and he banned almost all dangerous types of firecrackers.

I love fireworks too, but we certainly need to consider safety as younger children are fascinated by them.
I hate the sound of firecrackers. In my country firecrackers are prohibited by the government, but there are still people who sell them freely. The buyer is a child who will put it on a street corner.
