Every individual... neither intends to promote the public interest, nor knows how much he is promoting it... he intends only his own security; and by directing that industry in such a manner as its produce may be of the greatest value, he intends only his own gain, and he is in this, as in many other cases, led by an invisible hand to promote an end which was no part of his intention.
What improves the circumstances of the greater part can never be regarded as an inconveniency to the whole. No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable.
I think this concept is only true and cases of individualistic societies. Societies that promote cooperation and communalism tend to think about the larger group than specifically the individual gain.
There's so much to gain from coopetition vs compition. It's amazing it's so hard to convince people of this.
