RE: NSFW (due to subject matter, no nudity in this post) ,shot for Brazzers today!

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Just for you to know, I flagged you and let me explain why. It was the first post I stumbled upon while scrolling my phone at 8 in the morning. I don't like porn and I don't want it in the public feed. (and I'm not a women) From what I understood from the past, #nsfw stays in the #nsfw section and shouldn't be showing up in the public trending section.

I took that as being a bug in the system and I flagged you.

I invited my 14 years old niece to write in here and it just churns my guts to think she could have seen this post. I hesitate to invite or talk to minors about steemit now (who are very likely to try new tech) because I would be responsible to have introduce them to a platform with porn on it. Which could damage my reputation in my community.

I'm not against you doing what you are doing, but I vote (and flag) in accordance to what I want to see in the trending section.

Sort:

Seeing stuff you don't want to see is not a good reason to flag!
JUST MUTE ME.
& hope that Steemit implements an adult content filtering system soon. So your poor guts don't have to churn.
I don't want children seeing adult content either. But then again, this is a supposedly uncensored site, so Steemit it needs to make viewing adult content a setting and allow it to be shown to adults who want to view it if has nsfw as first tag, but now that isn't the case. I take every precaution I can to prevent people that don't want to see the content from clicking on it. But you just have to improperly flag, rather than muting me... Be an adult.
How about you wait until Steemit makes adult content filtering optional (if they do) before you invite teenagers under 18 on here, seeing as it's supposed to be uncensored.
Could be way worse content being posted and not properly labeled at ANY time! Thanks for targeting me though! sarcasm

There is already a content filtering system. One which you're deliberately circumventing by putting your NSFW tag later than the other tags.

Even by the somewhat fictional standard of steemit "flags", your post fits the description. It is intentionally miscategorized.

By the actual standard of an upvote or downvote, a downvote is appropriate because having this material show up on the front of the trending page or on people's feeds is harmful to the credibility of the platform. At least in this guys humble opinion. Maybe you disagree.

You and your supporters seem to be all freedom of speech, unless that freedom involves someone elses' freedom to vote their conscience.

I've voted for your posts. I think you've brought something to the platform that many people appreciate. I'm thankful that you have worked hard to understand and respect our format on the site, such as keeping the NSFW images where they belong. Plus, you are able to post a personal interest piece like this which is great. I'm glad you're part of the community and I hope you keep on posting.

Thank you!!! I intend to keep posting , thanks to awesome people like you existing on this site! :)

I don't vote just for myself and this was an appropriate flag by voting according to what I believe should be on the trending page of steemit as of today. Up until this post, there were nsfw, but they wouldn't show up unless someone went to the #nsfw tag directly. Somehow things changed. If something worse would have shown up, it would have been flagged to the ground...which is the purpose of flagging in the first place. Up until now, I had no issue have minor coming to the website. But things changed about that too.

It's not personal.

I'm sorry @cryptoctopus but a bug in the system is not a reason to punish a poster. I'm very disappointed that you would flag for that reason. If you don't want to see her content you can mute her until there is a permanent way to block NSFW content.

Re-read please. I dont believe this content should be in the trending page at all. For me and others. If there was a popup saying to confirm the users are 18yrs+ then ok...not the case right now.

Why punish the poster for that though?

Its not personal. Right now, its the law to verify someone age on an adult content website. I vote for what I believe shouldnt be on the front page. (Btw, i didnt flag this post but the previous one)

Thanks for getting back to me. I sympathise with what you are saying and I think there should be some kind of solution (I'm sure there will be). Until then I think it should be taken up with the Steemit team rather than the users who post. We can't tell people that this is an uncensored platform and then single out NSFW content.

Like she's already said, just mute her if it bothers you so much you gigantic pillock.

If there was a warning this website is 18+ then I would not flag. This stuff shouldnt be on the trending page. You know those popups where they ask you to confirn your age? Not happening here. So its not just about me...but what I believe should not be on the public front page of steemit.

" So its not just about me...but what I believe should not be on the public front page of steemit."

I love people who contradict themselves in their own post without realising it, saves me the effort, yes, this is all about you, it's about you and your belief that other people shouldn't be able to post something if you don't like it which is what censorship is. Every single act of censorship I have seen in real life and throughout history has been predicated by some bullshit sense of moral self-righteousness.

While I respect the fact that people won't want to see this sort of thing and I do think it would be nice for people to have an NSFW or Adult category ( Perhaps even both ) so people can choose to hide it, as an Anarchist I will continually pick a fight with anybody who seeks to abuse the flag system to censor other people as this is precisely what I was worried about happening in the future.

The true irony of this is I thought that it would be the left wing SJWs and Feminists first because they have been the most aggressive with these sorts of tactics and I have been busy engaging them because of what they're trying to do to the games industry. Little did I know the Christian right was lying in wait for their opportunity to censor and attack people with content they don't like the moment the left was removed from the presidency and the fanatical anti-capitalists stopped having any real influence.

Rest assured, I will see to it you don't win here.

Dude. I am a marketer. I think about what's best for the value of my future stake. I dont believe this kind of content should be on the public front page.

I don't care, you're advocating censorship and this isn't some family run kids' website, this is a social media platform that is supposed to support free speech and expression.

Also, nothing of what you propose will stop children from viewing porn in the first place, especially teenagers.

Its the law to verify age on adult content website. Since i do not have power to change the code, i do what next best for my stake. (And my reputation since I have a giant Steem logo on my car)

Anarchy doesnt mean "no rule" but "no rulers". This game needs rules in order to function properly and it needs to be compliant with the law of the land on which it operates. (The US)

Censorship would be banning or deleting the post. I flag because i believe it was inappropriate to be on the public front page of steemit (and to some extent illegal).

As has been stated many times, people have no problem with making a category for adult content, you however continue to keep pushing censorship. As for your comment about U.S law, please provide a citation, I haven't seen any law that specifically states that you need to provide a warning if your site contains adult content.

Just to clarify i didnt flag this post but the previous one.
