The monster inside the closet

Do you ever feel as if you are invisible? Sure, physically you are not. But the people around you see what you let them to see and what they want to see. You are many persons for many people. But when they look at you, they don't really see you. At least not the way you really are. The shiny faţade you display, the spotless mind you portray, the well tailored human suit you wear everyday, nothing but a beautiful veil. Perfection. But like in all dreams, there is a monster at the end. The side of you known only by your mirror. The angry, repressed, scared side. That entity walks in your shoes, talks like you, acts like you, does everything you do. But he isn't you. He is the darkness dwelling beneath your skin, the hidden desires, primal urges, regrets, sealed within the deepest corners of your mind. A void harboring the shade of who you might have been if the world was different. An abyss where you keep prisoner your true self from the world. You can sometimes feel this person pounding on the doors of your subconscious, scratching, trying to claw his way out. And sometimes the ones around you see glimpses of him. But everyday a battle rages to keep him under lock and key. A neverending struggle between light and dark.
