PRODUCTIVITY #2
HABIT 2: AVOID MULTI-TASKING
Multi-tasking is simply (in my own words) doing/ working on many things at the same time. It is your brain switching from one thing to another and back in a short time-frame and this can be hazardous to your level of productivity and efficiency. You’re dividing your focus and hence cannot give one thing 100%. Multi-tasking is not a talent or a habit to desire. Research has shown that it even reduces your IQ, hence avoid it.
To do that, first you have to decide on the most important thing to do from your to-do list (see my previous post). Then, you make up your mind to focus on that item till it’s done. If possible, take away anything that will make you change your focus. Also, you have to choose to be the best. The amount of effort and concentration you input in anything, determines the quality of the output. Choose to be the best.
