When did you last receive a hand written letter?

I saw a post a couple of weeks ago here from a friend who is building a collection of guitar picks. As I had one at home that I don't use, I wanted to post it to him to add to his collection, which I did.

I added a little hand written note with it; just setting out why I was sending it to him and passing on my best wishes.

He made a great point in his next post here;

that it was rare to receive a handwritten note.

And it got me to thinking.

That in today's age of text messages and email, of blogging and the internet and Facebook, have we lost the art of writing a letter?

When I was much younger, when you made a friend on holiday, you became "pen pals" where you would write letters to each other telling each other all your plans and news. Do people still do that?

I have one such pen pal who I met on holiday 22 years ago, and we still write to each other. Granted, it is only Birthday and Christmas cards these days, but we do still write.

I love receiving a hand written letter through the post, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I would be keen to write a letter to anybody who would be interested in receiving one from me.

If you would like me to write a letter to you, please get in touch via steemit chat and let me have your address.

Thank you :-)
