Reflection of My Life: I still need to learn

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Hellow Steemit Fellows!

I learned from the best about helping the needy. I have been encountering many good people in my life who are willing to help others while they themselves are helpless. I've been on Steemit for 11 moons and I saw many steemians who always love to share their fortunes and experiences in life, whether it is through their posts, contests, games, comments and wallet!

In the real life, I've seen the man I love shared anything he has with those who seek for helps from him and never refused them no matter the situation is. While other people (I heard it from the talks at the shop) is trying many ways to be able not to have to pay the parking fee, I saw My Man gave the illegal parking men more than the common fees. it's a bit "hurting" me until I understand the reason is, LOL.

We have to accept the consequences of.png

Someone from Venezuela reached me on discord yesterday, asking for 1-2 steem to buy food for the family. He told me he's a good artist and quite good on art and writing too. so I made a short check after I sent him 2 steem. I check on his wallet and He's been having donation from good people on Steemit, some memo included in the donation, for his mother, for science, for buying paper and things, but then he asked me (I won't say he cornered me with his situation because I have that steem and why bother to help when you have a chance?).

I have many friends from Venezuela on Steemit, I understand the situation in that country from watching the news on TV which always about the crisis in several countries in the world. But finding someone uses the discord to reach other for food? that's a new experience for me. 2 Steem equal to 40-50 cents USD and He told me it is enough to buy foods. He has a bank account and still have time reaching people to help by using the free computer form his friends cybercafe. it just doesn't make sense for me now, but then I remember something in my past.

I was once had no home to live, but I have a job. I refused to accept money from my parents because My Father already retired and He has 6 more children who needed his financial support more than me. I think I've lived like that since I was in university, but I'm surrounded by many gorgeous friends who understand me and always willing to help without asking for any helps (They knew that I'd better do something for them before accepting the helps).

I will never asked for anything if I didn't know how to give it back in returns. Because I don't want to be Indebted.

It was in 1998-1999 when My Country faced the biggest crisis in history after 53 years as an Independent Republic. Born in and as an Achenese, one of the ethnics in Indonesia, I learned many things about our great history before The Republic proclaimed in 1945. I heard many stories from My Parents and My Qur'an teacher about how they survived in the worst situation during the Independence War and early years after Independence Days.

  • Eating your food quickly and don't waste your food.
  • Help your parents in the household chores and take care of your little sisters and brothers
  • Makes friends No enemies
  • Respect the Elder and Love the Younger
  • Be kind and Honest, No lies accepted
  • Don't Cheat and Panick, Behave yourself because everything has solution.
  • Be patience and makes no assumption

I heard all the advises many times and repeat to myself until today. Nobody gonna believe me that I was once sleeping without eating anything because nothing left when I want to eat and I just swallowed the sea salt as my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I learned that people not dying because of hunger, but because the failures of some internal organs in our body to keep the life metabolism functioning due to lack of important elements from foods.

As a Muslim, I was taught to be someone who lives with dignity, have pride, never beg to human and do anything because of Allah if I want to have a beautiful life beyond the life in this world. Be kind to other creatures because you are a Human Being except to Evils! Because the true enemy in this life is the evils and our own greed. Well.. there's many ways to implement the principles of my religion in this life towards other different religions and nations too. But Cici, why does the terorism existed if your religion taught you to be kind towards other? I don't have good knowledges about them, but as far as I know, Terrorism is not one of the principles of Islam.

we're not supposed to be perfect for anything because we're already perfect for our nature. we're armored and weaponed with something wonderful and amazing things in our body by our Creator, The brain and the heart. We have a free will to do the best we can without hurting others. I still have many things to learn in this life, I need to walk in other's shoes if I want to understand their life.

A wonderful post Cici! You really touched my heart!

It must be hard to be a Muslim in a world which thinks that all Muslims are terrorists. I firmly believe that terrorism has nothing to do with a single religion. There are terrorists of all religions. If you are a hurt semi-conscious creature which thirsts for blood you will always find "a cause" - an excuse to kill and hurt others, no matter if it is about religion, communism, new order, utopia, your family, your ego... anything.

Thanks for bringing all these issues!

Thanks to you too for your comments @insight-out, I couldn't agree more with you about terrorism is not belongs to a particular religions or ideology because it is individual or groups choices, the other gift of being a human with a free will. you know that most news channels I watch or read .. always bring up about the ISIS while as muslim, we're also disagree with their actions.

anyway.. this is the world we live and we can't get everything's as beautiful and wonderful in our dream, because sometimes we got a nightmare too, right?

anyway.. this is the world we live and we can't get everything's as beautiful and wonderful in our dream, because sometimes we got a nightmare too, right?

Unfortunately, you are right @cicisaja. All we can do is try to be nice to other people and make our tiny step to make the world a better place. Just as you did with your Venezuelian friend.

Few days ago, a single mom , half deft come to my house, She asked for the help for the payment of her son to be able to pass the examination, she's working too but it is just enough for daily foods for her family. I feel so angry because my government announced the free education tuition for the poorer, but She still have to pay to make her son attend the final exam, but there's nothing I can do to protest the situation.. I just gave her what i have at that time.

I remember my parents and my teacher said, don't you ever wait to do a good deed towards other, some friends told me that it is my weakness, but I don't listen to them because it's not my responsibility if they're manipulate me.. I just want to do what i can do to help. I don't wish anything in returns too... because I realized that it is the part of my mission of being a human.

Hey @cicisaja

I only just realized that after all the help you have given me, I have not once seen any of your posts, which made me feel terrible... After reading this post, it really made me relate to a few things like not wanting to ask your parents for anything and being respectful to everyone as well as a few other things.

I have to be honest though, when I was younger I did not know about how prejudice society is to Muslims... Why this was hard for me to understand was because my neighbors are Muslim as well as a lot of people in my neighborhood and it was hard to understand how people were prejudice toward them because they are such good people... I was young and naive to how the world works.

As I grew older I realized that the world is not what everyone portraits it to be... I felt sick, thinking that if my friends, who are my brothers in all but blood were to go anywhere else in the world there would be bias opinions cast upon them because of their religion.

I live in a society that is diverse in race and religion and it still irks me as to how people can cast such views on certain people because of what a handful of people may be doing around the world.

I'm sorry for ranting, but this is a sore subject for me because I am really close with a lot of my Muslim friends, I mean I grew up with them, stayed in their homes, eat with them and I find it very disrespectful that there are people in this world that cause such hardships for their fellow man...

I have a lot of respect for you, reading this post and finding out all the good deeds you have done out of sheer generosity... You have a really good heart and I hope, even through all your hardships you persevere through them and remain the way you are :)

You and your husband sound like such great people, I wish that the world had many more people like yourll... that would certainly make the world a better place.

Sadly though, there are a lot of people who suffer because of prejudice thoughts, whether it is by conscious or subconscious acts and there are a lot of people who try and fight against it... but I feel that its a subject that a lot of people should be educated on to somewhat try and prevent the future generations from holding these prejudice thoughts and behaviors.

Are you sure you're only 19 @shadown99.. because you ranted out like an old man here... LOL, Just Kidding!
I understand your feeling, here in my country which also known as a country where 90% of the citizens are muslims, we still face the prejudice amongs ourselves too. if we say that most uneductaed people would do that prejudice, I don't think so.. because some politicians use the sentiments to gain power and then Media play the biggest role to influence also controls other people mind.

trust me, there're many good people in the world even on Steemit I meet so many gorgeous people, just like them in the team possible, you know. because I was once in my life also accepted many helps from others too, why would I mind to pay it forward? Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us here, So glad to know that you have many muslims brohers too.

Yep, 19 :)

I have seen a lot though, had a 2 friends pass away when I was in school... Saw the aftermath of a suicide just down the road, had a few armed robberies on my road, saw a lot of violence due to racial issues...

Had a near death experience a year ago while going out with my friends. There was a car that was in an accident on the freeway and there was no indication of it, because it was dark, we almost crashed into them, but luckily my friend who was driving managed to swerve out of the way just a few inches before we crashed...

My mom wanted to commit suicide when I was in my final year of school and my dad blamed me at the time, because I was caught smoking weed during that period of time... :(

Only found out a few years ago that my parents have been in debt most of our lives, but hid that fact from us because we were young and apparently naive to how the world works.

Almost got involved in a shootout because these two guys that used to live on my road got into a fight with one another... The one guy pulled out a semi-automatic gun, but luckily he didn't use it :(

Got caught up with the wrong company and almost ruined my life, but learning from that I have been able to better myself and help a lot of people around me because I also have friends who know that I come from a less then average family... And like you I try to help others in a way I can, like with studies and in general life wherever I can.

After all that has happened in my life, I believe that all the hard work that I put into my life will eventually be reflected upon by my success, hence the reason why I try to always be positive and see the good in everyone. Because a lot of bad things happened in my life and the more I can spread good around me, the better I feel towards the reality of the world around us. Even if it means being the bad guy to make someone else look/feel good, I'm willing to do it if it makes someones life better...

That is something I like to keep to myself though, only a small amount of people that are close to me know my true side... Because if everyone knew that I am a good person at heart they would try and take advantage of that, and me being me, I will still go out of my way to help them. So I try to be the person that does good, but I don't like anyone to know that I did a good deed, because I like to remain in the background and not forefront of any situation...

I'm saying all of this because I relate to what you have said and because growing up in tough situations will make you who you are, depending on what you learn from those experiences and how you use the knowledge from those experiences in the future... Good or Bad.

I feel like this comment could have been a post by itself :D

Have you joined a curation and engagement league? Where your comments and engagement being rewarded with some steems if you reach the top ten engagers of the week? I bet you'll get to the top 10 with this kind of comment😉

You are right @shadown99, the nature, the environment we live created us to be the person we are today, we'll be a good person when we want to be a good one. Remember 😉

experience is the best and valuable teacher

Hard life could shaped us to be a kind hearted one but sometimes it could turn us be a mean one. We have a free will. You should start to write your book! Start it from here.. on steemit

Not too sure whether I have joined either of those... Will definitely check though.

Yes, free will and the ability to think for ourselves and not be shaped by what others think of us :)

With regards to a book, I don't think now will be a good time since I have no experience in that department other than the few posts here on Steemit... But I will definitely look into that in the future :D

One step at a time @shadown99 . 500 words per post on steemit about that..try it

Wow. That...was powerful. Thank you for sharing!

you are most welcome @michaias, I just reminding myself that I'm no good on everything but I still have a chance to do for other and I'm grateful for everything in my life. thanks for taking time to read this crappy one

Hello accepting your kind invitation to arrive at your blog, and I find a very raw reality, I am and live in Venezuela, I think we should be in solidarity with everyone who really needs us I help many people who are going through much more work than I do, I was very saddened by your story of what happened in your life, I admire Muslims, and I do not think they are all terrorists, perhaps the question that comes to my mind is why terrorism? perhaps begin to investigate the issue. I congratulate you for your altruistic heart, you are a noble person, I send you a great greeting from my Venezuela. @cicisaja

thank you @perlanacarada, don't be sad about my story of life .. it was nothing to compare with what the people of Venezuela face right now. as A musim I was taught about fasting and control my behave including when I'm hungry too.

all this world need is love, because we're born because of love I think. and what I did for others, because I know how it feels when you try to reach out for soem help but none there. Thanks for your nice comments
