When you're asked to choose your battles wisely, it means you should be selective about the nature of argument, confrontation and challenges you get involved in. You shouldn't go about employing the Robin Hood approach in everything.
There are some arguments that should be avoided. Some problems that should be walked away from. Some confrontations that are not worth it.
Not every battle is important. Don't waste your energy on battles where the playoffs are less than the cost of fighting. Be wise.

Not every battle is important you said but I wouldn't agree with that. Depending on the kind of battle you're referring to though. If we are to fight only thr most important once, don't forget those little once you ignored could actually come back bigger hunting you.
