>>NOT TOO YOUNG TO RULE OR NOT TOO YOUNG TO THEIF
I will first sagaciously give kudos to the youths who front the idea and pursue it to a reasonable level. Great job well done and you guys name will forever be in book of records.
Now to my position. Not too young to rule bill is not our problems as a youths and a country with a decay system, I will like us to visit history so we can know that youths has always be taken their position since 1999 to the moment with no meaningful impact to the system. My number one example is the first speaker of house of Representatives at the beginning of 4th republic, Hon Salisu Buhari, who was 29 years old as at the time he contested and won before He became the speaker of the house of Representatives at same age, although he was later impeached due to his result scandals. Another great example is Hon Dimeji Bankole who was 32years as at the time he became the speaker of the house of Representatives in 2007. These with many examples can testified to my points that not too young to rule is not the problems but characters.
An average Nigerian don't understand the term character and age. Leadership is far more than unrealistic optimism. If age could be the barrier what about the millions naira to buy nomination forms from political party?, how can a 25years old youth get five million to buy a form for a political post without engaging in criminal acts? All these should be the reasons why not too young to rule bill can't be effective.
How many youths posses a transparency, credibility, unfavoritism, contentment, selfless characters?.
When the lame man was asked why he wasn't carrying his load straight, he say it is the top you see not the bottom from where the whole thing begins. Age difference is just the measure of human existence, this does not in any way project one with better ideas.
As the old politicians are looting so also called the youths are looking for every means to steal. Thats is to show that personal character is constant be it young or old.
The recent chaos among the OAU SUG executives stabbing theirselves all because of 3 million Naira that their father did not work for and they keep on shouting one stupid Aluta continua slogan and parading themselves as the God sent stakeholders who can decides the future of their respective institutions and claimed to be the future leaders. instead of the students to question their so Called unionists who supposed to be fighting and maintaining their status quo as As a future leaders, how the money given to them been spent. NOO, they will be the one to even back them up with VICTORIA ASCERTA.
My assertion about not too young to rule will not end if I failed to remind my readers that 75% of Nigerian youth today's are into Internet fraud "Yahoo " or cooprate prostitute "OLOSHO", all these acts are the public menace which has eaten the flesh of our youths to the marrow without considering the consequential results.
The rate of which the youths are looking for money are so alarming that if the TREASURY of this nation should be given to them within a twinkle of an eye they will empty it.
We have lost our Moral value on the alter of riches. We don't longer have a youths who can boast of his or her future like before again. Nigerian youths aspiration now are cars, big club they will attend and how many baby mama's they want to have. All these are reflection of Personal Character and not age.
I believe that good character is an instrument that guides the purposeful existence of human.
Nigerians, especially the youth mistake what they need for what they want. We need social amenities, We need to review and amend some policies and the constitution guiding this country, we need to look into the allowances of the legislature, executive and judiciary because they can't be claiming they are serving the nation while they are making millions for just making noise and the masses can't afford three square meal.We can't just start working on our want when our needs are not met. You don't need to vote in 25years old man as president before things can be good. We all don't need to be in the government before we can impact the society but we need to be involve in political process of our country.
Wealthy Religious leaders can build big factory, help provide social amenities instead of building expensive university, acquiring acres of lands for camp instead of farms. Instead of conducting everyday vigil and telling the congregation that demon are the one holding Nigeria wealth (the demon that did not hold their private jet) , they can as well build a massive ICT camp that will build the Nigeria youths up for a better tomorrow. The youth need to sit up and be well oriented. Everybody can not be an entertainer, everybody cannot be a footballer. Scholarship should be awarded easily not only to brilliant/outstaning student but to other student that are burning to learn and explore. At least recoverd looted money and senator's monthly allowance can go for the students grants and scholarship. instead of using billions of dollars to purchase weapons to fight Insungency instigated by the same politician in goverment, more schools should be built.
In conclusion, the salary of our legislature , executive and judiciary at all levels of government should be drastically slashed down so people will not see political post as Avenue to procure wealth. It should be a place where you can contribute your quota to the development of your country. and finally it won't give politician a do or die affairs as the salary will not worth the rewards in there.
