Discovering the nightlife in Thailand! Craziest parties ever?!

Because it is Friday night, let's talk about one of the most insane places to party in the world: Thailand! What to expect of a place that served as background for the movie "The hangover 2"?! Well, you know that movies exaggerate and often reputations are not a valid reflection of reality. But in Thailand's case.. well... I will let you decide!

So one of the things I was most excited for when my bf (sleeping guy from the previous story) and I decided to travel to Thailand this summer was, of course, the party scene!!! (I'm a student so I feel like it is almost an academic requirement for me to be party-oriented).

This one night (I really wanted to go out) some friends of the friends we were staying with wanted to go out so I decided I'd tag along. There was just one small detail: I was the only girl. In a group of 7 or so guys (including my bf ofc). But hey, whatever, right? I wanted to dance and so set-off to Patong in our van with lights party lights the ceiling.

When we got there, I couldn't believe my eyes. There were lights everywhere! Lights, a road crowded with people, Thai people selling everything on the side walk (from clothes to party lights and food). It just looked totally insane!

There are bars everywhere, everyone trying to get you in and sit on their place or watch their ''shows'' (I'll get into that later), options forever! We went into a place which was basic a big space with dozens of mini bars inside. But the "bars" were just a circle with a bartender inside, a pole with a girl on top of the bar area and some chairs (Oh and of course, a few pushy ladies trying to get you to spend money there). They are all next to each other, looks like just 1 place but they are all in competition with each other.

The second most popular thing in Patong, after the bars, are the strip clubs. There are loaaaads of strip clubs, so many you could probably spend one week doing a ''strip-club-crawl" through the different places. Not my type of place, but I was out with a bunch of guys soooo I ended up going in as well. Needless to say that you are not allowed to take pictures inside, so peaks for this post!

In the matter of fact, Adult entertainment is very popular in Thailand. I think it might be something mostly to attract the tourists and get their money, cause a big part of the Thai population is actually more reserved (from the small villages and etc). But anyway, if freaky is your thing, Patong is the place for you.

Remember I said people are in the main street there trying to get you to come to their bars/clubs and their shows? Well the shows they have... they are mostly for people with a particular taste or that are very curious. One of the most popular shows is the ping pong show. WAIT A MINUTE! Before you say, what is wrong with watching some sport while we drink some beer? This, my naive friends, is not about 2 thai guys playing ping pong for your entertainment... NO! This show is about...

ARE YOU READY FOR IT? SURE?

Ladies shooting pingpong balls out of their vaginas. YEP. Totally true! But that is not even the most weird one, they have ones with girls making bubbles, with their vaginas ofc.... But one of the creepiest of them all I heard they have is the one where a woman shoots a BIRD (you read it correctly, a BIRD) out of her vagina. -Now, where else in the world you can find this type of thing? I told you the Thai nightlife was crazy!

Unfortunately for you I cannot tell you more about these shows, cause I didn't watch any of them. I was too busy downing shots of tequila but if you are curious, I'm sure you can find more about this somewhere on the internet ;)

SO, after thousands of bars, crazy cheap shots, clubs, strip-clubs and the weirdest shows you can imagine, what else can make the nightlife there so unique? The tuk-tuk ride back home, of course!

Imagine this: Getting early in the day, you (obviously tired or drunk or both) sitting in the back, lots of colorful lights in front of your face and this guy racing to get you home in this hybrid of a car and a bike. This is the cherry on the cake in the recipe for a crazy night you won't forget!
