RE: They're Inside Nearly Every Work of Art I Produce: What Are You Looking At?
Am I looking at eyes?
The riddle (if it is in fact a riddle and not simply a trickster’s game) leads me to believe that the answer should be a palindrome or an emordnilap/mirror word (clues — evil/live, eliva/alive, racecar, man's best friend = dog/god). So, that led me to consider “eye” as a possible answer, but since the riddle speaks of “they” and “them” I thought “eyes” would make more sense in context.
In What Are You Looking At there is clearly a finger pointing at a face with eyes, which itself appears to be floating inside one of two giant empty eye sockets. Or at least that's what I see. 🙂
If this is incorrect, I still had fun thinking about your riddle, and I hope my guess helps someone else get it right. Oh and thanks for the insomnia. Riddles will do that to me.
P.S. fwiw I still can't figure out how "Thank you for staying on top" fits in with all this, but I suspect it is somehow related to the word "above" in the second to last line.
You are clever.
The answer is not eyes.
Well … thank you for the response. It's good to know what answers are not correct. Back to the thinking board. I do hope someone figures this out because I'm very curious.
