Acting As If - Everything You Always Desired Already Exists
An actor must prepare, prepare, prepare if his character is to be believed. He must research and prepare some more. All this so that the audience can observe his performance and say, “he does that so effortlessly!” Much like life!
The actor answers the questions:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What do I want?
How am I going to get it?
And we, the audience, get to enjoy watching the process!
Acting As If - This is something we do all the time – naturally.
Acting as if is a process that places us into a receptive state of becoming something other than our present circumstances.
Example:
When we are sick or not feeling well but HAVE to go to work – we “act as if” in an effort to support the higher good. Often what we find is, that by “acting as if”, we become what we have opened ourselves up to becoming. In other words, acting as if you are well often overrides the illness and you do begin to feel better.
Earl Nightingale has stated that a measure of our success is in direct to proportion to the energy we spend in order to achieve our goal.
How can I apply Acting as If into my daily life?
Pick a desire or goal that you want to acquire or achieve – imagine that you already have it
Keep your affirmations in the present, not future. For example: if it is your goal or desire to take a trip to Hawaii – begin by stating how grateful you are to be here in Hawaii and (fill in blank). Don’t say “When I get to Hawaii I will…” Because that keeps your intent in the future – like wishful thinking.
Would you rather believe in something that cannot be or in something that will be?
