Tulips! So lovely. In fact the third photo captures them so well. I think it is the shadows and of course splendid art below.
It is very true in many ways that people do expect that love and love alone is all that is needed. A very apt principle for the time of the year! I do hope the flowers were a delightful gift!

It is really hard to find a subject more elegant, classic, and straightforward/clean lines than a tulip...is it not?

I love tulips and the clarity you've captured. The first tulip reminds me of a star.
Re your principle - love without corresponding actions can be hollow. A relationship must be based on honor, dignity, goodness, respect. Real love, agape (love) would encompass these virtues and nurture the relationship.
