Did you happen to catch the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics a few days ago? They had 1,218 drones creating a spectacular performance of the Olympic rings and a snowboarder. The view was magnifying that drew you into the spectacle.

This amazing imagery had me thinking how the world could become with all this visual technology. With virtual reality coming soon to the mainstream and other new innovative ways to capture our attention such as this drone performance, we could get sucked into a make believe world without even knowing it.

Musical Performance Illusion

Many decades back music and performance, usually woman, was used to create a hypnotizing illusion to keep your attention. This was done to control you and get you do to what others wanted, such as being sold things.

This hypnotizing illusion is exactly what I thought about when I saw this drone performance. It was so intriguing that you could almost not look away, it was almost like you were in a game.

It is super cool to see technology advance and everything in general but this could create fantasy worlds that people get lost in.

Simulator Worlds

Often some of the smartest people speak about if we are already in a simulator or not. I am not sure about that but all this new technology has me thinking that we will create "simulator" type worlds or environments.

We will be caught up in all the beauty of the new technology and not even know what is going on in the real world or it could become so real that we can not tell the difference from reality and a simulated world. This could be problematic as companies could try to keep us in a make belief world to profit from our attention.

What do you think of living in a possible simulated world? Will this happen or even be possible??
