The world's first maritime city is being built
The pilot project, which has begun to apply in French Polynesia, will be the "first maritime community" and is planned to be completed by 2020.
300 people can be accommodated in this city.
Joe Quirk, chairman of the Seasteading Institute, has spoken of its plans for ocean-going cities that will be exempt from the restrictions of world governments
"If we can have a seaport, he may be a country of birth," said Quirk, pointing to his disappointment with current governments that are not getting better but are locked in the past.
He looks at his own project as a way to avoid this system.
"We can create different governments for different people," he added. Right now they are willing to cooperate with the current governments so that we can build Venetian half-moon in paradise. "
This city will be located in a "special economic zone" enabling the institute to realize some of its ideas in the relatively controllable area.
Engineers and architects have visited the location where this project will begin, which will cost $ 167 million. So it has entered into an agreement with the state that will create a "unique steering system" in a "scrap" of the ocean in which the project will begin.
"By 2050 I want to see seas, I hope thousands," says Quirk.
This is an awesome project!
One big storm, and what happens then ??
