The legacy of a great musical master, sower and talent builder!

Today I want to tell you the legacy of a bastion of orchestral music in the world, it is time to give honor to whom honor deserves, today in the country music lovers, musicians and especially members of the national system of orchestras of Venezuela we find Mourning, has died one of the greatest musicians of Venezuela, a dreamer who thanks to a vision has spread the music throughout the country and the world, his legacy and his mission of life has made the difference in music, this talent builder taught us that art is a right, José Antonio Abreu to party this Saturday March 24 in Caracas at the age of 78.
He was born in Valera, Trujillo state, on May 7, 1939 and since very young he showed his musical and artistic sensibility. At the age of nine he began his music studies with the pianist Doralisa of Medina in Barquisimeto. In 1957 he traveled to Caracas where he became a disciple of great masters such as Vicente Emilio Sojo, with whom he studied composition; Moses Moleiro, professor of piano, and Evencio Castellanos, of whom he learned organ and harpsichord.
In 1964, Maestro Abreu obtained the title of performer and master composer at the José Ángel Lamas High School of Music. In 1975 he founded and directed the National Youth Symphony Orchestra and the State Foundation for the National System of the youth and children's orchestras of Venezuela (FESNOJIV), which is a network of children's orchestras, juveniles and choirs that involves about 500,000 young musicians.

I will tell you a little of the great legacy that master Abreu has left us: the orchestra system is an innovative youth education method in which music is the main way for the social and intellectual improvement of the country's seeders, giving the opportunity to Any child or young person who wants to learn to play an instrument and develop as a musician to enter to study with high level teachers in a complete musical system with a pensum that goes from the language music.
This system of music classes has moved all over the country to its deepest corners, gives opportunities to all alike and forming a lot of musicians. The music student entering the headquarters of the orchestra closest to the short time of studying the instrument enters to play together small works, which makes him enter a totally practical musical environment, where he learns music, share with children who do the same and develop in a friendly environment of talents and creation, away with this leisure and currents that can distort their proper development in society and as a human being, such as drugs or vices of the Street. For this reason the system of orchestras is a great way to create people of good, sensitive, creative and given to the art and has been model to be imitated by other countries of America and Europe.
It has as its maximum expression the symphonic orchestra of the Venezuelan youth Simón Bolívar founded in 1979. He received the National Music Award of 1979 for his work in the system. Under the direction of Abreu, the system has participated in programs of exchange and musical cooperation with countries from all over the world. Being worthy of national and international recognitions, among which stands the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts 2008.
Currently the system is the entity in charge of the development of the Mission music that the national government advances to reach the goal of the million performers under the principle "music is an irreplaceable instrument to unite people". In this way, the original project "Music for Social Action" is given continuity. In 1994, unanimously, the Inter-American Music Council of the OAS appointed him as the principal member of that highest international body.
