Nice post! Wonder if you follow Mr. Money Mustache - his ideas dovetail with yours.
My next vacation is to see exotic places and eat interesting food - that wouldn't be someplace I want to live. A few years ago, we went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico - which was fully about escaping the reality of our lives (which were quite difficult at the time). I feel as I grow into a more intentional life, my vacations are not to escape, but another form of entertainment.
Yes there are many beautiful places I would love to see too. I'm thankful that we are finally at a place in our lives where we don't need to escape anymore. There is much validity to "escaping" when you are going through difficult times in life...been there friend. Enjoy those beautiful places...don't forget to post pics. I'm heading over to check out Mr. Money Mustache now.
