Does this scene with me look like this was in the Billy Madison movie with Adam Sandler? It's because it was. I live 4 blocks away.
A ton of movies and commercials you have seen are shot at Parkwood Estate, the X-Men mansion scenes are included in the massive list of things shot there too.
At the end of this post I give some historical info, in a couple sentences of the famous people who built the house, many of you will know them, you have driven their cars.
I have included the X Men reference points since a different generation of viewers would have seen that - but not necessarily the Billy Madison movie which of course helped define a generation.

Back to the Billy Madison scenes here near my house!!
It is located across from my old high school and beside one of the worst hospitals in the universe. It was OK when it was the Oshawa Hospital but then a big consortium got involved, more government nonsense and it has a legendary list of complaints since it has gone on to become Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
I am glad Adam or some of the X Men have not needed help shooting movies there the last several years, we may never have seen them again

This is an aerial photo from the 70's or maybe the 80's. You can see the hospital beside the Estate (the OGH is the brown coloured building towards the top of the photo)
My high school OCVI you can JUST barely see the front lawn start on the mid-right of the photo.
The famous pool and fountain area for the Estate - you can just start to see towards the middle - left of the photo
If you are still reading, the Parkwood Estate here was the official home built by Sam McLaughlin -- the founder of GM / General Motors.
It started out as the Enniskillen Carriage Company about 25 mins. north of this house.
It had a couple name changes (McLaughlin Carriage Co. and Oshawa Carriage Works) and eventually ended up as GM.

I talked to John Candy there when he shot one of his last movies. We had a good chat about hockey and sports since he was a part owner of the Toronto Argos football team at the time. I yelled at him on shooting break about why is the team so bad with all the money him and his ownership group of rich sports buddies and him had LOL
He waved me over across the security line and asked my opinions LOL, I will never forget that.

The team was crap and that is what I yelled at him. Honestly.
The crowd laughed. I was living a block away at the time. You could easily see the lights at night whenever they would film something so I wandered over.
I will miss him!! I still do.
