Why It's Hard To Write Well
I should be writing articles every day on all my social blogging platforms (Steemit, Medium, Trybe and my personal blog) but it's becoming increasingly difficult to write articles daily.
Though I don't consider myself a good writer, not in anyway. I'm not from the US or the UK where English flows like water and I didn't grow up in an English speaking western country. Though I took English classes in my high school before I dropped out, but to be honest I wasn't really paying much attention then.
Everything I knew about English and writing today was as a result of what I call "write and error" similar to the "try and error" stuff you know. I begin writing in 2013 when I started my blogging career, what I noticed back then was that I was good with expressing my mind, though verbally because sometimes it turns bad when I put them in writing.
Since I knew how to freely express my thoughts which I think is as a result of my ability to think well, so now I know one of the problems with writing is solved.
I begin writing and like anything else, it keeps getting better and better. Some people I'm better off because I was practicing and they didn't, begin to see me as a good writer.
Now, I'm trying my best at writing, but I don't write anymore Like I use to do. The writing was everything to me, it makes me money and changed my life, so why did I stop?
I honestly wish to write daily, but I found out that it was hard to write because I wasn't motivated to and the reason for that I have discovered and I want to share it with you.
Because I Stop Reading
When I began writing, one thing that helped me move from "write and error" to "write and trying" was not only because I was writing frequently, but also because I was reading other good writings by great authors. One author that has influenced my writing greatly is James Altucher. Each time I read this man articles or books my writing muscle that has atrophy makes up a sudden because James doesn't only write good English, he writes simple English, nice stories with great lessons and he never cease to inspire me.
In fact for the past 2 years, each time I'm down and not motivated to write, I visit James blog and from there like magic, my writing instinct begins to wake up and do better.
What I noticed is that no matter how gifted you are, you can't write better than you read. Maybe because writing is not just something you become an expert in and then you write good stuff all your life. Writing needs to be improved time to time and that is best done by writing frequently which can also be best assisted by reading frequently.
Writing and reading seem to me like two conjoined twins that need each other cooperation to survive. If you try to stop reading, you will lose the motivation to write and then it will become hard to write.
I have a little writers block now. The contest deadline is Tues. I had a week...lol
It'll come back. Just like always. Inspiration comes and goes. Don't worry.

Practice makes the man perfect. I fully agreed with your philosophy that reading helps you writing good blog. I also learning the art of witing. It is difficult to write if English is not your native language. Thanks for sharing inspirational and motivational post @bania
