Balancing Productivity and Downtime for Greater Success
You'll often hear people talking about their hustle as if it's a point of pride. But really what is needed is balance, as in all things.

There does need to be effort if you expect to see results, but wise effort is what's called for. And often the only way you'll even see what wise action would be is if you've first given yourself enough downtime to calm your mind.
When you have a hectic mind, because you're doing lot of action at a fast pass, and barely giving yourself any time to rest, you think small. It's like you're locked in a little box and can only see an inch in front of your face.
When you give your mind a chance to rest, it's as if you're sitting at the top of a mountain, looking out upon an endless horizon. You can literally think bigger thoughts with a bigger view!
So don't push yourself from one activity to the next all day, every day, and expect to see the best results. You'll actually see better results from taking less action, but making sure it is the most effective action available to you. The way you can possibly do that, is by structuring enough downtime into your day.
What to Do
- Take a walk without anything playing in earbuds or anyone you're talking to on the phone
- Put on some music and dance around your living room
- Bake some brownies from scratch (not the mix, actual flour, chocolate, eggs, milk, baking soda, vanilla extract) then take half around to your neighbors. You don't have to go inside. Just chat at their door before moving on to the next.
- Take a hot bath and put things you like in the water, whether epsom salt or scented oils
- Get a massage
These are just some of the many possibilities for things you can do that will silence your strategizing mind for a bit and let some creative inspiration get in. What you do afterward in your business will produce much greater results!
Enjoy.
