There is a real question whether universities are worth having at all any more.

• Universities are no longer that source of knowledge and learning they once were. You can learn anything you want on the internet.
• An University degree no longer guarantees you a good job.
• Universities are no longer places of free thought and diversity of opinion - they have become the opposite.

So question what purpose do universities serve in society and are they worth the huge amounts of money that is spent on them?

Its not a simple question and I'm glad my kids are not at that age yet.
