The name Menal is derived from Maha Nal (Great Gorge), and that is what Menal really is. It is located on the Bhilwara-Kota(RAJASTHAN) road, 80 kms away from Bhilwara. Beautiful waterfall, where water fall to a depth of 150 feet in a V-shaped valley with great force. @nature

Next beauty of this after the beautiful Menal waterfall is Mahanaleshwar temple , the place made famous during reign of the King Prithviraj Chauhan, this is the group of Siva temples known as the Menal temple complex or Mahanaleshwar temple.In 11th century Mahanaleshwar temple, is replete with carvings, pillars,courtyard,and sculpted panels etc symbolising the West Indian style of temple architecture.@art

The entrance has a seated stone lion on the top of temple along with a number of deities carved on the walls of temple . All around the temple, Shiva and Parvati are depicted in various postures, surrounded by dancers, musicians, gods and animals. The main specialty dedicated to Mahanaleshwar built in sand stone.

Before the main gate of temple of Mahanala is a Nandi enclosure.
