How to Make Yourself Look Younger

in #life6 years ago

You don't have to shell out megabucks for anti-aging products, or undergo expensive procedures to turn back the clock. You may be able to reverse the ravages of time and make yourself look several years younger with a few simple and inexpensive age-defying tricks.

FACE

  1. Whiten your teeth to bleach away years from your appearance. Use an over-the-counter teeth whitening product from a drug store.
  2. Change the color of your lipstick to enhance your new, brighter smile. Realize that dark, rich colors may have looked good a decade ago, but as you age, they only serve to accentuate lines around your mouth. Select a lip color that is a little lighter and softer than your current shade.
  3. Moisturize your face and neck in the morning and again at night to keep in well hydrated. This can help plump up your skin and give it a more youthful look.
  4. Toss out your heavy powders and foundations. As you age these cosmetics may only draw attention to fine lines and wrinkles. Purchase a tinted moisturizer instead.

HAIR

  1. Color your hair with red highlights to jazz up the look of your locks. Forget about using ashy color tones because they give off a gray hue which can add years to your looks.
  2. Use conditioners primarily on the ends of your hair to prevent split ends. Keep conditioners off your roots so your hair doesn't look limp and weighed down.
  3. Style your hair with a root lifter. This will make your hair appear fuller and more youthful.

LIFESTYLE

  1. Pamper yourself with a facial. Massaging the muscles in your face can contribute to a healthy glow and promote firmness, at least temporarily.
  2. Get a good night's sleep. When you are sleep deprived you are more apt to have puffy, red eyes and look tired. Adequate sleep can help you look and feel younger.
  3. Limit the time you spend in the sun. Frequent sun exposure can cause premature wrinkling, brown spots and sagging skin. Wear sunscreen before heading outdoors. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30.
