RE: Discussion: Women calling Men "Daddy" and Vice Versa.
Interesting post. I am not a fan of the daddy "thing" lol although my husband is the daddy to my children, I only call him daddy when I'm talking about him to our 4 year old. I had a dad that was there for me my whole life.. my mom was actually the one to walk out but I don't think I've called him daddy since before kindergarten LOL
To each his own - as long as no one is getting hurt and no children are being harmed but definitely not my cup of tea.. I think it's a bit creepy lol
Your temperment towards the phrase matches the concious response. As I'm sure you know, most people who use it never think about the connotation of the word. I also feel weird saying "baby girl" to a grown ass woman and never used it. But I'm like you, if people get pleasure from it then more power to em. I just doubt they're thinking about why the phrase is what it is and how it came about.
Yeah, I agree. Maybe more people should be questioning why we use these words and what the message really is.. words are pretty powerful - but at least daddy, or baby girl or whatever isn't derogatory or disrespectful lol but that's a whole different conversation in itself. Anyways, great post, I really liked it.
