Giving

There are so many people in the world today who are in desperate need. Your desire to purchase a Cadillac, a mansion in a pretty neighbourhood, a cheetah in your house, etc doesn't qualify you for this category. I'm talking about people who lack food to eat, clothes, appropriate shelter, clean water,etc. I mean the people who won't be able to read this post because they can barely afford to feed adequately not to talk of being able to acquire a device to surf the internet. They are in desperate need however, there is no one to help them out. Few people are benevolent enough to toss them a few coins occasionally but it all stops there.
When we throw our parties, we only invite people who are in the same social strata as we are or higher, so as to be able to procure favours. We always neglect the less priviledged. If you are a religious person, even the holy books command that help be given to the poor frequently. The question now is "Do you help people?". You might claim that you you live in a neighbourhood where everyone is rich, thereby resulting in lack of people to help. However, what happened to visiting the slums and providing help there. If you are the kind who feels high and mighty and believe that you might catch a disease by visiting the slums, how about a trip to the orphanage and providing those adorable children with items they require.
Believe me, if you start to cultivate the art of giving, you'll be surprised by how this void you never knew existed in you will be filled. You don't have to be wealthy to give, you just have to help in your own little way. There is a saying that "Givers never lack". No man has ever become poorer from giving. Winston churchill said "We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give".Go out there today and start making a difference in the world by putting a smile on a face.
