Is the love of money or the love of power the root of all evil?

Hello my fellow steemians!!

I have been thinking hard on this topic since very long and came up with a conclusion i.e, Both are not evil neither love for money nor love for power.

Evil begins when we treat another living being as though it was an object i.e when we lack feeling of humanity for someone. There is no other evil than ourselves. This statement sums up every evil action taken by us for the satisfaction of our greed and security.

When you treat another life like an object, that is evil. Every instance of this is evil whether it is treating a female performer like she is an image on a page or it is killing someone because they had done something wrong. Those are both evil actions. They are evil because someone disregarded the humanity of someone else at some point of time in life.

For Example:

When the Ford Motor Company decided not to recall the Pinto because it was too expensive, that was evil because they allowed people to die over an $11 replacement part. To them those dead people were numbers on a page but for some it was life of their loved ones.

OR

When a terrorist organization sends a suicide bomber out, they are evil. To them that person is nothing more than a bomb, but to his family he could be a son, a husband or even a father.

OR

When a person gets jealous of their partner's friend that is evil. They act like they own their partner and sometimes they perform actions which can have an adverse effect on their own life.

None of us are immune to evil acts, it's just that we slip up regularly. But it is up to us to make a serious effort to reject evil in ourselves as well as in the world around us.
