The Gift of The Fair Minded: Win or Lose Maintain a Clear Focus
A non-biased mind in some aspects can even hold more value than a positive mind, particularly when we are working towards accomplishing our objectives and goals.
As we often notice, making self efforts and troubling to feel positive and cheery at all times and situations is not only impossible but often can become a "chore" that you feel negatively about and may even escalate certain situations.
More importantly rather than judging a situation by categorizing it as Negative or Positive, we should try aim to judge situations and feeling from an equitable point of view.
The main idea is how we choose to steer between "negative" or "positive" feelings and situations, whether we get really excited about one, winning for example, and how we react to in opposite, losing.
From early memories, as a kid, when when we were playing soccer in our city's park, my friend always said that I never get angry when we lose but, in that same way, I never go crazy happy when we win, actually, they used to say I have the same reaction to both cases, winning or losing.
It's important to mention, I did feel happiness when we won, and also felt some sadness when losing, but I always tried and practiced on staying focused and keeping a "calm mind" about situations rather than get entangled in any temporary moment.
Being a big fan of sports, I always applauded skillful and experienced players who seemed like they kept a "calm mind" disregarding the final outcome - winning or losing. In my perspective this reflects vast of emotional wisdom.
Don't allow the outcome of winning or losing disturb your desire and encouragement. Life is full of experiences and when one ends, another one soon arrives, we have so much more learning and goals to achieve, don't allow a sole experience "lock up" your mind from being free to enjoy everything.
In the end, the more important things is how we learn to handle winning or losing, and that reflects to other situations, when being more observant on the course, rather than on the outcome.
Realistically it is as risky to become attached to a single win as it is to become attached to a loss.
Just like when a sports team coach finally wins the championship, or when you feel you have found the man/woman of your dreams. We begin to contrast all of our impending dreams and goals to that particular example of achievement.
And that is a very efficient way of eliminating innovation, healthy self evolution and growth.
Don't try to remake a success - move forward for a new experience.
If you are able to keep a fair mind – a neutral conciseness that is "above" the concept of winning or losing – you favor and leverage yourself greatly.
A fair consciousness is keeping focus and sight for the long run, understanding your ambitions and goals, and always aiming to become the best version of yourself, or to be more exact understanding that you are the ideal version of yourself, understand the this is a never ending quest and requires everlasting maintenance.
