The US state Department welcomes the decision of the social network Facebook to block accounts that are suspicious activity in the run-up to the midterm elections in the US. This was reported on August 1 in his microblog on Twitter by the official representative of the state Department Heather Neuert.

"We welcome Facebook's actions against malicious actions (on the social network)," the report said. It also notes that the US demands that " Russia and other countries immediately cease their reckless behavior, provoking division (among us citizens) and violence."

"We will not tolerate attempts by foreign States, including Russia, to undermine our democratic processes and institutions," concluded Neuert.

We will remind, on the eve of the company Facebook has announced that it has detected and removed 32 pages and account on Facebook and Instagram in the framework of the fight against dissemination of false information.

The social network noted that they do not yet know exactly who could stand behind their creation, but "found evidence of some links" between deleted accounts and those managed by the Russian Internet research Agency on the eve of the presidential elections in the US in 2016.
