WHAT DO I WANT TO BE?
This is a question I have asked myself since I was 11 years old. Although we know from childhood that we want to be or we already know what our dream job will be. However, that question is repeated very often since we are about 6 years old, -I really understand that adults are interested to know what their children like so that we can guide them- but it seems that this question is the only thing that generates in the majority it is a pressure of some kind of "duty", a pressure that is charged and only released when he decides to do something that he really likes.
Ok, if you have been in the same position as me, then the title in this post is a question that you may have asked yourself; And if you are a person who wants economic stability, maybe you think that studying will help you achieve that goal, it certainly helps you in one part, but economic stability is not achieved by studying in a university. I have proven it with the example of my uncle who is a gynecologist-obstetrician, he has earned about $ 80 in a day, in Venezuela it is a lot of money earned in a single day of work, he still has not reached economic stability because everything spent on things not very conventional for being responsible - economic responsibility that is obtained by how well you manage the money and not by what you earn in your profession - and if you still can not understand what I mean, stability You achieve it first by maturing and developing yourself personally, because although you will be aware of the title, maturity is in what, in itself, you have managed to know about your own life or that of other people to live well economically; This proves that if you want to study for economic stability, think about it several times. There is also the fact that you decide to study a university degree because your parents or other people tell you that you should study something; I have to tell you that I know people who have a title and the only thing that has served is to "catch" dust or to serve as decoration in the room.
As a child when I said I wanted to study medicine to be a plastic surgeon or when I said I wanted to be an engineer, everyone applauded me, because according to being a doctor or engineer it is much better than being a carpenter, of course most adults only think of money, and when listen to a child say that by his mind only pass "doctor = $$", "engineer = $$"; However, we return to the case of my uncle, a graduate of medicine who despite earning a lot of money, is not economically stable. Really studying one career or another can only ensure that you have a job more paid than someone who did not study a university career.
Now at this point, I must say that the question you have asked yourself should be changed from "What do I want to study?" To "Why do I want to study that?" And must be accompanied by "Does that make you completely happy?" .
Is that the real question is that, because in the end the study only serves when the person generates a fulfillment satisfaction. Because it is very good that a person who likes the arts or one who likes to paint studies arts focused on their area.
We are already in a fairly advanced age and I believe faithfully that no father should repress things to his children, on the contrary, they should help them grow and strengthen their skills and abilities. Maybe at some point it has happened to us that you refrain from doing or saying what you really want to be for fear of being criticized, prohibited or simply because that may "disappoint" our responsible. If we studied to be what we really like we would be the best, happy and stable, you can say that even economically, if you do what you like, you will be one of the best and the money will come by itself; There are many cases in life, Nelson Mandela, Bill Gates, Edgar Ramirez, among other people with great success recognized for focusing on what they really like.
Even if we have doubts about what we want to do, we are no longer children and now we are part of the group of young adults and therefore we can also influence the younger ones. We must be more careful with what we say or with what some parents forbid, often it is to cut off someone's dreams and aspirations. When you doubt why study just think about what you really like and look for something you can do with what you like and what you think long term, after having answered those questions you can already know if what you want to study will benefit you to develop personally.
Because the world really needs people who love what it does.
