5 Killers Of Our Time
There are five main things that steal our precious time. Whether you avoid them all or you will forget of your progress and success.
Time is the only resource, which is accessible to all in the same quantity. The difference between successful people and others is how they use their time. So, five things that always can distract you are:
1. Stop say always “Yes”.
If you are asked to do something, it doesn’t mean that you have to. Ability to say “No” means ability to say “Yes” to your main aims, to things that you believe in.
Tip: Remember, if you agree to do something, you give up from something else. Set priorities and choose the activity that really will benefit you.
2. Forget about multitasking.
Multitasking is a myth. When it seems that you can perform many tasks simultaneously, in reality you simply switch your attention from one task to another. And it’s not a fact that you can successfully complete all your tasks. Many tests proved that you can really focus on one task only.
Tip: Focus on one task at a time till you complete it, only then you can switch to another one. This approach will significantly save your time in the longtime run.
3. Eliminate distracting factors.
Certainly, sometimes we can’t take everything under control and avoid distracting factors completely. But in most cases we are able to change our environment.
Tip: When you are busy with your project close social network site, switch off your mail client, put your phone in silent mode and keep it this way until you finish your work.
4. Don’t try to remember everything.
Your resources are not unlimited. You can keep in your head a certain number of thoughts and ideas only. The rest will be forgotten.
Tip: Use the helpful tools (Evernote, Todoist), where you can save your valuable ideas. You have to make a habit to record your ideas and plans as they appear in your mind. So, you won’t waste your time to think of your new idea but pay close attention later in your free time.
5. Keep your workspace tidy and clean.
Comfortable environment is an important part of the productive work. Clean desk, correct lighting – everything will play their roles.
Tip: As you’ve completed the last task tidy up your workplace and prepare it to the next productive day. Make sure your desk is free from mess.
Don’t let the above mentioned factors to distract you from important work.
