I cycled nearly 350 miles from London To Paris to raise money to help people suffering from DEMENTIA.
This ride was organized by the Alzheimer's society.

DAY 1
We left London on Wednesday 19th July 2017 at 7.30am and rode for 83 miles to the English town of Dover. It was really a tough day with over 1500m of climbing around the English countryside.
From Dover, we boarded a ferry across the English Channel to the French town of Dunkirk.

Day 2

Ready to cycle from Dunkirk to Cambrai a distance of 103 miles, across some beautiful and quiet towns in Northern France. It was a bit of a drag as the terrain was pretty flat all the way.
Day 3

Me and Beauty my bike ready to ride from Cambrai to Soissons .
We already knew it was going to be hilly ride, very undulating terrain all day.
But I had a bit of a drama, just 10 miles into the ride. The zip of my favourite yellow developed a fault!

I honestly could not believe it! Thought it was just a kink but it was permanently damaged.

I had stopped to take some photos at a British memorial that we found along the way. The person taking the photo was busy snapping away as I was fighting with my zip! Really glad she took those photos.
Luckily for me, I had a light rain jacket and I got a new jersey from the Alzheimer's society at the next feed station.

It was a very hilly start, had some rain before the weather finally settled for a beautiful ride into Paris.
This was at our holding point where we all assembled before the ceremonial parade to the Eiffel tower through the Arc de Triomphe. It was a glorious parade and we were all filled with great sense of joy and achievement. For many it was a very emotional time.

I will add more to this post as I find more photos on my phone. It has been an incredible and freaking awesome experience!
It was tough riding nearly 350miles From London To Paris but a very rewarding experience.
Together, we raised over £271,000 to help those suffering from DEMENTIA.
Would I do it again? 100% yeah

Congrats on the ride as it was certainly a worthy cause and thanks for sharing! I have an aunt that bikes across the USA at least once a year. She once told me that a friend of hers got a bike so that they could just ride together and enjoy exploring. The first of their supposed many journeys ended rather abruptly. Her friend called his wife, put the bike in her car and said he was selling it the following day...lol. I didn't see the big deal either until you see someone riding as though they'd stolen something.
