My Eid Story: Chaunsa The King of Mangoes

in #life6 years ago (edited)

And so I was told "Once you have eaten Chaunsa Mango of Pakistan you will forget other mangos in the world." I have always thought what an arrogant statement it was. I was curious of this statement. So I have got the chance to taste this King fruit of Pakistan 'Chaunsa' as I am now in Gujrat Pakistan. The price PKR150 per kg. If I convert that to Malaysian Ringgit is only MYR5 per kg, so cheap :D.

Don’t sit at home and wait for mango tree to bring mangoes to you wherever you are. It won’t happen. If you are truly hungry for change, go out of your comfort zone and change the world ~ Israelmore Ayivor

Chaunsa Mango got its name from a village called Chaunsa in Malihabad Tehsil of Lucknow. The season for Chaunsa in Pakistan normally starts from June, till the third week of August. Pakistan is the fifth largest producer of mangoes in the world. Chaunsa is regarded as the ‘King of Mangoes’ and is the most sought after mango in Pakistan as well as globally.

My first tasting experience is wonderful. This mango is phenomenal, it has that sweet taste and aroma that is to die for. The fruit texture is soft, creamy, smooth texture, sweet taste, pure yellowish-orangy when ripe.

Happy Eid Mubarak to all Muslims! This is my 3rd Eid story. I am traveling to Pakistan and spending my Eid here in Gujrat. From my observation, this is a great society that has a strong family bonding and relationships... a rare trait of this modern wired hi-tech world including of mine in Malaysia.

Wishing you a pleasant day!

Take care and Stay Blessed!

Yours truly,

Hi@thenos, that's nice to know about Indian mango names. Chaunsa is the best that I taste so far. You should try and let me know. If you come to Malaysia, our best mango is called Harum Manis.

Hi @rehan12092786, thanks for sharing your story.

nice post on chaunsa. Chaunsa is my favorite mango. I would like to add little. There are two types of chaunsa.
White Chaunsa
Black Chaunsa
Both have good taste. White chaunsa season start from June to July
Black Chaunsa comes at the end of season. Black Chaunsa contains tissues (in our language we call it ریشہ ) so it's not as good as white chaunsa. Keep sharing @ainie.kashif

Hi @kamchore, oh that's nice to know... thanks :D

I just lovvvve it, can u send me some of them?

Hi @allinone7, Chaunsa cannot be export, you will have to visit Pakistan to taste it.

Hello, in Venezuela ,. Mango is one of the national fruits that are never missing from the table as these trees abound in Venezuelan homes on the streets or in the parks, we have them from the end of April to the month of September. It is a sweet fruit with fleshy pulp, smooth shell, yellow or pink, depending on the variety. Some grow mango for its pleasant taste and because it can be eaten raw, green or cooked, it is very delicious. Many greetings

Hi @amariajose838, thanks for the great info about mango in Venezuela..that's nice to know. Stay blessed :D

Hi @ainie.kashif - I hope you are enjoying your travels..

I love mangoes too!

Hi @rlt47, yes am enjoying myself indeed. Chaunsa mango is the yummiest :D

In our country Mango does not grow. They bring from other countries. They are green, not ripe and sour. That's why I do not eat mango. And in the photos you have a mango appetizing looks.

Hi @eduards, you should try this Chaunsa and then you will understand how tasty it is. Super tasting experience :D

Ooo mem @ainie.kashif you can't imagine i am just last some day's searching hard in Milan italy .but i find some other's types but still missing tests of #pakistan chaunsa

Hi @saifullahskp, Milan also doesn't have Chunsa! It's so sad, I hope Pakistan Government can opt to export this nice mango species to other countries. So that the rest of the world can taste it as well.
