COLOR POP'S!!! (GENERALLY KNOWN AS COLOR BLOCK )

Color can be in different shades: it can be deep, light, bright, dark and screamy. It can make a gigantic combo that will make one to love the color one hates.

Color can be discussed in two forms in fashion;

1. Color for wears (clothes, shoes, bags, hair,lipstick and so on)

2. Color as in human shade of skin (caramel, chocolate, dark, coffee and so on) It is necessary to put into consideration the color of outfit or wears we might be putting on sometimes due to the kind of shade our skin comes in for us to look outstanding for a particular purpose or occasion.

As a dark skinned person it will not be advisable to put on a over all pepper red outfit or a deep black over all outfit, (though this depends on the kind of fabric been used) instead let it be beneath e.g. a pepper red skirt or trouser with any nice color top or a deep black skirt or pant with any nice color top.

However this is not the main reason for this write up maybe this might be discussed more in details in the nearest future.

Come to think of it ; what do you understand by the word color???

A layman definition goes thus : it is the property of an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or gives out it's light.

General definition of color give it's own this way : Color is the element of art that is produced when light, striking an object is reflected back to the eye. First is the hue, which means the name we give to a color e.g. yellow green, e.t.c.

** Here is my own simple definition of color **: color is anything that is fascinating to the eyes or anything that catches the attention of it beholder.

I want everyone to understand why pops is been used instead of blocks ,will explain that later on for now lets move to knowing about color block.

Color block : This is choosing a range of colors to create an outfit, if the range of colors is going to be deep or dark shade, let all the color chosen all goes in deep or dark shade.

For example : thick cream, royal blue, mustard yellow.

The colors can be placed this way on each other to get a nice simple dress, the lighter shades above and beneath then deepest shade in between another form is thick cream above mustard yellow in the middle and royal blue beneath.

This three color combos can all go together into a simple dress.

Now back to why color pop is been chosen instead of color block. The word pop has different definition according to my research, from google I got up to five meanings but permit me to pick the one that is related to the message am trying to pass across.

Here it is:

1. Appear brighter or more striking in juxtaposition with something of a different or complementary color.e.g. She added a slick of lipstick to her lips to make the outfit pop.definition source

I so much love the definition above because it has done a lot of justification to what am discussing already to make a layman that is a novice in fashion to understand my explanation concerning COLOR POPS. The word pop is so captivating , when one hears color pops images start roaming in the head. Also if good range of colors are selected they pops out and do the same to the individual in them.

Lets look at my color combo creation which goes for a casual outfit.

1. A red trouser

1. A sky blue shirt (round neck more preferable)

Now the accessories:

1. A long chain (rope like with a blurring yellow pendant)

2. A mustard yellow or not too bright yellow hand bag or purse

1. Hand band or bangles and wrist watch might be in bead like form or plastic in mustard yellow

1. Earrings should not be drops but stud earrings in yellow (not too bright yellow)

Well as its been described my color combo are all in line , deep or dark color were not chosen but the shade of colors chosen are in between deep and dark and they are all in middle shades. With this idea will end up this write up by saying; never get scared of matching making colors to be friendly.
