Quiet Bullet Trains....Thanks to Kingfishers (Acquaintance)

My recent visit to Jurong Bird Park made me inspire to write about this amazing and beautiful bird, Kingfisher. There are eight kingfisher species in Singapore,it is said that four of them are migrant kingfishers during the northern hemisphere winter. They are commonly sighted in Bird Park and near water areas in Singapore. The eight species of Kingfisher in Singapore are:

(1) Bkack-capped Kingfisher

(2)Rubby Kingfisher

(3) Common Kingfisher

(4)Black-backed Kingfisher

(5) White-throated Kingfisher

(6) Collared Kingfisher

(7)Strok-billed Kingfisher

(8) Blue-eared Kingfisher

Do you know that Bullet trains used to produced deafening noises when exiting tunnels. An engineer, inspired by the quiet dives of kingfishers, designed the front of the train to shape like a kingfisher's beak. Trains with the improved design are quieter, faster and energy-efficient.

We learn from Mother Nature to improve our quality of life and indeed there is a reason to protect and care for our Mother Nature.
