How to spot a "Pinocchio" in real life!?
Two things made Pinocchio famous around the world and both were related. Actually there were three. He was carved out of wood by Gepetto his human dad, he lied a lot and his nose was growing every time he lied. For us humans, unfortunately the nose isn't growing when we lie, but there are some gestures that liars do when they simply...don't tell the truth.
One is that they avoid eye contact especially because they know it is not true what they are telling you and a sense of guilt makes them look the other way. At the same time a real life "Pinocchio" will be recognized when he lies because he suddenly becomes tense, nervous and has something to do rather than fix you in the eye and finish the conversation.
In their "act" of avoiding the eye contact and finding themselves suddenly busy with something else the story that you listen carefully doesn't have too much sense. If you try to interfere and ask extra details or any proofs they will become defensive making themselves guilty before you even realized.
That's not all. If you keep talking about the subject showing that you aren't satisfied with the answer and ask them to rewind you will see them taking some distance. This is another clear sign that they are lying along with the attempt to even "change the tape". Their voice and diction becomes also just a child's rambling that's trying to fool mommy he didn't ate the cake.
If the liar is a person you know for a while you will notice that every time he is telling stories they aren't the same he told last time and this will happen with everyone he is interacting. Lying is just a habit that some started to develop from childhood and keep on perfecting it. We all lie from time to time and sometimes is better to lie to a person than to make her suffer by telling the truth, but when you become a "Pinocchio" you enter another story. A bubble story that will burst at the first contact with the pin of truth.
