Charlotte's Chance

I come to you today with something very important and very special to me. After yesterday, I knew that I never felt so serious about making something happen in my life. This post is not for me, but for the happiness of people that are very dear to me.

Yesterday I visited my aunts house in Corryton, Tenneseee. I'll admit, I hadn't visited her in years at her house so I thought it was time I made a surprise visit. My girlfriend and I showed up just as she was leaving to pick up one of her three grand babies that she has raised, more or less, alone. She quickly invited us in only to run way past her deadline of leaving because she had some serious catching up to do. She told us we were more then welcome to stay as long as we like, and she called me before she even got back. I could tell that it made her really happy that we took the time out of our day to come see her and she wanted us to stay, so we did.

Now, I'll cut to the point.

My aunt is one the kindest, sweetest, most loving and selfless people I will undoubtedly ever meet in my life. No one can compare to her in my eyes, she is everything this world deserves and needs. However, I find it incredibly unbelievable that someone of such great character, could be living and raising her three grandchildren on her own under these circumstances and conditions.

Upon entering her home yesterday, I was in utter disbelief by the black mold growing in the corners of almost every room, the giant crater in her backyard, the complete absence of counter space in her kitchen, the water heater in her kitchen, the cracks in the walls. The homes foundation has been eat up by termites and its condition has rapidly declined over the last 5-10 years. To the best of my knowledge, they may also be living with no heat or air conditioning.

My aunt has been diagnosed with a form of cancer to top all of this off, but she has raised three of the most loving and beautiful children in these conditions and has never stopped fighting these cards she has been dealt.

I beg of every single one of you to share this post or send it to someone that may be able to make a difference. I don't have the financial power to do something like this or it would have been done along time ago.

I have attached pictures for proof and have restricted everyone in my family to save the possible upfront embarrassment.

I have already cried so much for my aunt and I would much rather be smiling for her. I can't think that I've ever wanted something so bad for someone in my life.

This is a true hardship placed down on a woman deserving of chocolate and gold, and this is not the full story.

Wanna donate directly? I took your advice and setup a GoFundMe.

I will be exploring all routes and possibilities.

Thank you all.
