The Power of Networking
No man is an Island onto himself. God’s creation are not created in isolation but in association. All creations are created to depend on one another e.g man depends on Oxygen from plants to survive, plants need the carborndioxide from man to survive. Every creature of God is interconnected. The glory of light (Sun) cannot be appreciated if darkness has not been known. As the night depends on trhe day so also the day on the night, vis-à-vis.
In information technology, networking is the construction, design, and use of a network, including the physical (cabling, hub, bridge, switch, router, and so forth), the selection and use of telecommunication protocol and computer software for using and managing the network, and the establishment of operation policies and procedures related to the network.
Networking is a socioeconomic business activity by which businesspeople and entrepreneurs meet to form business relationships and to recognize, create, or act upon business opportunities, share information and seek potential partners for ventures.
‘In life, the people you are able to reach through your own little quota measures the extent of your success.’
If you are in business, you cannot do business in isolation, you need people as people also need you. You are relevant if only you can mean something to someone else. The extent to which you can be relevant to people’s need determines the extent of your success.
‘You cannot be everywhere, but you can reach everywhere, how? The power of networking.’
Think about this, what makes a business bigger is not the structures but trhe extent to which it reaches out to the people, i.e the products we use almost every day and its indirect impact in our lives without even knowing these companies. Sometimes these companies are thousands of miles away from us and yet whenever we want them we get them easily as if they are a stone throw; how? Networking.
In making your mark, let us never put aside an effective marketing technique. If your trade involves your personality then give it all the marketing it requires, it requires, if it is your business that requires the marketing then be ready to pay the price. In doing this, you are simply building bridges, and expanding your horizons. The extent of your network determines the extent of your acceptance.
‘You cannot be isolated from an associated world except you want to be a failure.’
Associate with the right people, where you can’t get to, they will surely get there for you and if they can’t, their friends could. So the more of them the wider your success horizons.
Note:
In creating your network horizon, please be carful not to involve those that are not in line with your vision, so as not to have many distractors. But if networking is the answer, let give it all it takes for likes attract likes.
Networking is all about your ability to deal with people and build bridgs.
