Man Thwarts Gun Buy Back with 3D printed Guns
Source: The Houston Chronicle
I first learned about this from Derrick Broze’s Conscious Resistance podcast on KPFT Houston. Apparently, Houston decided to test the waters with a voluntary gun buyback program and ended up being bamboozled out of $3,100 dollars by a guy with a 3D printer who printed 62 “ghost guns” at a production cost of $3 each earning a net profit $2,914 at a net profit margin of 94%. As has been pointed out previously, the rest of the money for the buy back was probably wasted buying antique guns that were no longer functional, stolen guns and or guns used in the commission of a crime that a perp was trying to get rid of.
I've always found buyback programs to be profoundly stupid especially since they aren't going to give you what you paid for them anyway. I commend the guy that pulled this off because he didn't do anything wrong! They said they would buy guns, he brought them guns.
Stupid program, from stupid people; again doesn't work! He should publish his printing file for others to use. There must be more buy back idiots out there!
