Liberating
I will not link the post, or say who I am responding too, but someone has been spewing filth all over the blockchain and instead of commenting on their post I wanted to make my own. They were saying veterans have no understanding of the concept of liberty so here is my response to that person.
Normally, I adhere to a rule that I never waste more than three words on someone lesser than me; however, I will make an exception since this was an attack on veterans as a whole.
I was at hurricane Katrina with the 82nd Airborne Division, the things I saw my countrymen doing to one another made me question everything I have strived for, it made me question the citizens of my country I had sworn to protect. If you were there you too would have a different attitude about the use of military force.
The truth is the average US citizen no longer has any honor left and that’s why the military will have no problem (or difficulty) locking them up when the time comes, and it will.
To be perfectly clear to you I am in no way advocating this and I am against it but it is already happening and will continue. This you have correctly stated, however, veterans are going to be the ones fighting and dying to save your ass when the time comes, so listen to what I have to say.
Americans have gotten weak. They suffer an identity crisis, lack education (comparatively speaking), and are financially ruined. Take a look at your own life for example. I am sure you have traded all the basic characteristics of Manhood for a little comfort. Your children will have no understanding of duty, loyalty, or respect and this is one of the current problems with the USA.
Liberty requires strength; the strength to allow people to travel, the strength to hear things you don’t want to, the strength to defend your people, the strength to survive on your own. This is not so easy in today’s modern world, is it?
The greatest threat to our freedom is not the Veterans of our armed forces it is the people themselves. They would rather have comfort over safety and that’s is exactly how the government works. A bunch of easily moldable voters sells their vote to the highest bidder and there you have it. Now the time has come for a new generation of Americans to take a stand and reclaim liberty that you say Veterans know nothing about.
I am all for Liberty my friend, I for one know the cost.
I have borne the chains of service and experienced around me life taken by war and by natural disaster. I have stood before the enemy, without fear, preferring to help my battle buddies rather than concern for my own life. That, dear citizen, is liberating.
To say that liberty is foreign to military culture shows what a porn watching, Starbucks chugging, burger eating, video game playing, Netflix documentary binging, adult baby you really are. Being an advocate for freedom on social media does not count for anything.
It is wise for you to fear the government and its military, that I give you credit. But attacking servicemen and women about ideals is not a very constructive path to the liberty that you seek. I ask what have you done in your life to deserve these freedoms?
You were born, I can see that, but it’s time that we change this dogma that we are born with rights to be lazy and comfortable and free! That’s not how it works.
The real world is one different than your experience on social media and Comedy Central news reports. It’s hard, dangerous, and beautiful.
Thank you for expressing your freedom of speech, it’s because of people like you it is an endangered species on it's way to extinction.
Who's spilling this filth??
Veterans have earned our respect, sheeple deserve only our pity and disdain! Thank you for your service and for this post.

Howdy sir badger! Well said sir, resteeming.
Great editorial, I think you spoke the reality of it.
well, those who rip their throats loudly are always more audible, but not those who tell the truth. those who know how it really is, very often are the silent minority ... and their voices are hard to be heard in the crowd choir.
