Gun control in the US is and always has been completely racist. Donald Trump has an NYC carry permit. No black people who are not cops I know of do. In LA county today about 300 people have carry permits, almost all white men.
The first gun control laws were passed shortly after we became a nation, these banned slaves and native Americans from being sold or possessing weapons. Shortly after the civil war freed the slaves another round of gun control was passed banning them from possessing guns, when those were overturned by the 14th amendment they had to find ways to racially discriminate that were more subtle. Like banning all but the most expensive guns from being carried, ones newly freed slaves and poor white people could not afford, unless they still had theirs from their military service in the confederate army. And of course the one that we still see today, the same one that they had in Germany in the 30s. A "may issue" statute allowing local police or other unelected bureaucrats to discriminate and not issue permits to people who are otherwise qualified, why else would you allow almost all white people to choose who can have a permit unless you want there to be discrimination?

Of course all southern states recognized that their laws were designed for racial discrimination and did away with them and they are now "shall issue", blue states continue to discriminate on the basis of race sex and national origin in their gun permitting laws, unquestionably racist.

If you wanted to make it so 1/3 of black men could never legally own a gun then you would pass a lifetime ban for felons.

I like you to talk about government for security for the success of the general public.
