Am I a "right" libertarian?

Honestly, I don't quite know what the term means anymore.

Like, at it's heart, right is overall preference for tradition and left is overall preference for change, yeah? Like... That explains why anarchy and communism are both considered left wing when they're on the opposite sides of the political spectrum, and right in America (founded on things like opposition to monarchy and aristocracy) is different than right in Europe (with a tradition of the divine right of Kings).

Personally, I think some traditions are worth preserving and some change is beneficial, but I'm not supportive of change or tradition for their own sake in some kinda vacuum. It's a nonsensical division if it's devoid of context.

But I will say that libertarians often prioritize freedom and liberty at the expense of other values that I also feel are important. Some of those values are values associated with the right wing... duty, responsibility, etc. Some are associated with the left... compassion, specific radicalism etc.

Duty, responsibility, family, justice, and honor are as the right says, fundamental values worth preserving. Some shit is fucked, and compassion is important as a motivator as the left recognizes.

I dunno, man. The right would be better if they were more forward looking and had more compassion, and the left would be better if they looked at what was more effective and actually helped more rather than just wanting to feel active in doing something even if it was harmful in hindsight despite good intentions.

Libertarians would be better if they felt more compelled to promote positive rights absent law (which should focus on the negative), and they'd be better if they could exhibit more feelings and less autism. Denying responsibilities not legally mandated is incompatible with saying mandates are unnecessary, and claiming the moral high ground isn't convincing when you don't seem like you actually care.

I dunno. I respect too many traditions to be left wing and want too many changes to be right wing, and the distinctions aren't even clear any more. I just wanna be able to afford to live without inflation making everything worthless, more than anything, and by that standard I guess I'm right wing
