I do think he made a mess of this and it doesn't look good, even if it was 40 years ago, maybe this story didn't need to be dredged up now? I think he's lost his way as an actor too, doing the same film over and over. It might be good for his wallet but he must get bored out of his mind playing that role all the time?

I don't think hes the type to care too much, hes already so successful. Maybe he did get bored and just decided to tell this story as he got sick of giving the same answers. However he certainly didn't need to bring it up now or he could have explained it in a better way at least.
