NCOD: National Coming Out Day 2017!
So, I work for the LGBT network. Today is October 11th, which is National Coming Out Day(NCOD for short).
I love my job here and I love ALL the work we do here. We help scared children find themselves and the help and services they need. We help parents become more understanding, educated and accepting with parent support groups. We have all sorts of programs, theres some sort of program or set of events for everyone in the LGBT community here. We offer a safe space here. And what we do here surpasses selflessness and activism and education. I've never been around a more loving, compassionate, kind, and helpful group of coworkers in my life.
NCOD was actually created in 1988(My birth year, yay!). It helps combat homophobia through education, unification of the masses, and gives lgbt people of all ages an opportunity to come out in a supportive and loving environment. Today is a day of love, support, and education. I just wanted to take the time to share this day with the steemit community.
It takes a LOT of courage to come out. Today is dedicated to bringing support and encouragement to all the wonderful souls taking the brave amazing step to come out today!
So, cheers to all the brave, courageous, and wonderful proud proclamations of self today! Be you and be PROUD!
