HEY KIDS! LOOK WHAT I HAVE!
I wasn’t introduced to silver and gold stacking until after I married my husband. He has been an avid stacker since he was a young boy! It just wasn’t something my parents ever did. Maybe they didn’t think they could? I don’t know, but if only they had………
This is why I want to talk about this topic today. Unless kids are shown the true value of real money, the paper fiat stuff and the plastic cards are nothing that they learn real investment value from. Silver and gold changes this, and for today, we will focus on silver.
Many years ago, long before I got involved in stacking, I have heard it said that silver went for about $3 per ounce! What a bargain! Today, the market is sitting around $25 or so, depending on the fluctuations. I remember back in 2008 when an ounce was going for $48 per ounce! We have always bought in the lows and the highs, averaging the cost. It is said that we are headed for a cashless society, and that someday, those who won’t bow to the ways of the world, will ONLY have silver or gold to purchase necessities with.
So kids, thank you for your patience thus far, and this is where it will be more interesting for you!
I have @actifit-lamb, who has graciously agreed to model some silver for you! Now, she can be a bit silly, as you will see, but the lesson here is to stack-even if it’s just partial ounces at a time, or many ounces. You can even stack what I call “unstackable-stackables”. They can be very interesting as well, but harder to store!
Here, is @actifit-lamb sitting with a small treasure around her. First directly in front of her is the “unstackable-stackbles” I’ve mentioned. It is a sugar cube bowl made of sterling silver. Sterling silver is .925 pure, so it’s not as pure as a bullion round, but it can be very pretty to look at and to own, and depending, can be worth quite a bit.
Now, you will also notice that she has what looks like stacks of coins around her. They are in fact stacks of silver bullion, .999 pure (purer than sterling). They are round like a coin, but have no dollar face value, like say, a silver dollar or silver quarter. As you can see, they will stack nicely and require less room to store.
Now, here’s where @actifit-lamb gets silly, as she wants to wear it under her sweat band on her head! I suppose she could start a new fashion trend with that, lol!
Silver can be purchased in smaller amounts from your local coin store (LCS) if your allowance doesn’t allow you to purchase an entire ounce all at once. Ask your mom and dad! Get them interested in this, for in the future, you will have something that will always retain value.
Thank you, @actifitlamb, for your modeling of the silver, and I hope everyone (even the grown ups) enjoyed this little bit of silver silliness!
Keep on stackin’ and if you aren’t yet, get to it!
